For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
FAITH is what gets anyone through any problem or crisis. For those in chronic pain, learning not to worry about what others may think is healthy and important. It’s important to realize your lifestyle has changed but your life is far from over.In fact you may find new meaning. You have been given a spiritual will, so use it. You have a purpose and dreams yet to be realized and you are not alone.Finding a higher power will help you keep faith and hope. Refer to the 12 step program; it helps keep your mind focused on you, not the pain.
When my husband was dying from his motorcycle accident I prayed at all times for his healing and recovery.Miracles do happen! Prayer consists of being patient and not expecting healing when you want it, it is about timing and when it is meant to be.
One of the mantra’s I speak to myself each day is:
The love of God fills my heart with peace . . .
The life of God renews my mind, body and spirit . . .
The light of God directs me to new beginnings; I go forward with confidence . . .
The substance of God reveals new avenues of good to me my every need is met . . .
May the light of Christ heal and protect me and keep me safe at all times . . .
I then visualize healing light entering my body from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet permeating every cell of my body.I see the light and I visualize the warm healing effects within my body.
One of the best prayers for staying focused and in the present is the Lord's Prayer
The Lords Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen
