Chronic Pain Resource is dedicated to providing fun and memorable outings for those that have existed alone and in pain. Our goal is to have people remember what it feels like to have a sense of normalcy. There are wonderful events available for people with disabilities or who are in chronic pain.
My husband and I had reservations to hunt with Ted Nugent during Ted’s Birthday Bash at the YO Ranch in Texas during my husbands accident. We didn’t get the chance to do it that year, but we did it one year after my husband’s accident. What a thrilling time we both had and remember; stretching our limits and living life we so dearly love. We met wonderful people, ate delicious food and listened to Ted sing campfire songs. One thing Ted Nugent is about is attitude. As Ted says, “it’s all about the attitude.”You can either live life half full or half empty. It is always YOUR choice!
One year later we drove to Michigan with our dogs and my husband hunted wild Russian Boar at Sunrize Safaris with Ted, Big Jim and Paul Wilson. It was surreal, and beautiful. We didn’t feel an ounce of pain and on November 3rd, 2007 my husband was able to use his compound bow and unleash an arrow that would ultimately feed our family and satisfy our bellies. My husband speared his 300 lb. boar, while I was in a 20 ft. tree stand keeping watch. Two months later I had surgery on my sciatic nerve that had been scarred down, compressed, and deformed with a muscle torn from my bone for nine years. It didn’t matter we were having fun and living the life we love so much!
